1)the cannon law is a law from the catholic church that made people that were Christians to do things like marriage and religious practices.
2) if a person didn't follow the canon law they would be either or both excommunication and interdict for disobeying that law. if a king was to disobey the law he would face excommunication which meant that he would not have power with the church and will not be able to have salvation and all of the people that worked for the king will be free from they're services. if a king still disobeyed the law he would be faced with interdict, if interdict were to happened any one with the king would be doomed to hell.
